The Wanted

Amongst their fanbase, they have turned in to the name of the band and they most certainly ‘The Wanted’. The boys are labelled as British Irish collective and play mainstream pop. They are a manufactured pop band having been selected from an audition process from which they were selected.

It didn’t long for the band to produce their first single ‘All Time Low’ which was taken from the album that the band named after themselves, in the tradition of debut self titled albums. The album reached number 4 on the UK albums chart. Their second single of the album was "Heart Vacancy" which hit the number 2 spot on the UK Singles Chart. "Lose My Mind" was the third single from the debut album. They are signed to Island Records.

In January 2011, The Wanted began recording their second album. The release of the album was preceded by 3 singles, which lead titled “Gold Forever”, which raised funds in aid of the charity Comic Relief and reached the number 3 slot on the UK Singles Chart. "Glad You Came" was the 2nd single and became a best-seller, topping the singles charts in the UK and Ireland for two and five weeks in July, respectively. The hit charted across Europe, U.S. and Australia. Third single "Lightning" came out in October, also blasting into the top 5 in Britain and Ireland.

Battleground was announced as The Wanted’s second album, released on the 7th of November 2011 and peaking at no. 5 in the UK Albums Chart. "Warzone" followed up Battleground’s release in December as the 4thsingle from the album.

By spring 2011, The Wanted had started their debut Behind Bars Tour, performing on a total of 16 dates across Britain.

The Wanted have also performed at a number of festivals, including V Festival, T4 on the Beach and the iTunes Festival. The boyband has also supported Justin Bieber’s Sao Paolo and Rio de Janeiro concerts and Britney Spears concert at the Manchester Evening News Arena as part of her Femme Fatale Tour.

The Wanted embarked on their first U.S. tour in 2012, playing Las Vegas and New York. They also went on to have a hit with the sin ‘Chasing The Sun’

The band are Tom Parker, Jay McGuiness Siva Kaneswaran Max George, Nathan Sykes. In 2011, The Wanted participated in a MUZU.TV competition for a fan to win a the chance to have the band perform in their house.
