Official music video for the track Bizness by Tune-Yards.

tUnE-yArDs official music video for Bizness. Bizness is a song performed by tUnE-yArDs. Multi-talented New England native Merill Garbus follows up her spectacular lo-fi self-titled debut album with an even better track ‘Bizness’ off her brilliant 2011 album WHOKILL on 4AD. Bizness finds Garbus in full-on expressive mode; looping multiple vocals, strumming her beat-up distorted ukulele and pounding out hip-hop beats. With tUnE-yArDs Merill can be everything she wants to be and do everything she wants to do, which seems to be ultimately to just play games. She’s got an explosive vocal range, sounding closer to an African folk singer, and with the lines “I’m addicted yeah, don’t take my life away” she cries out all her love for life. It’s a pleasure to listen to someone that purely allows themselves to be whatever they are, tuned right up to 11. The music video finds a young Merill in a classroom and follows her to grown-up Merill and a group of paint splashed women dancing, pulling faces and rolling around to what sounds like a spiritual war cry. It’s giddy, moving stuff that is absolutely one of the most infectious tracks you’ll hear for a long time, swelling every time Merill sings out “whats the bizness, yeah” with super-natural conviction. In early 2012, the Village Voice's annual "Pazz and Jop" poll of critics named WHOKILL the #1 album of 2011 and it also featured in the Pitchfork Top 50 albums of 2011.
