Marriage to Dave Bautista

Dave and Angie Bautista got married on the 13th day of October 1998 (although some references quoted 16th of November 1998). At that time, Dave Bautista was just 29 years of age and his wrestling career was just kickstarting.

For the ring, Dave initially employed the name ‘Batista”. Dave later went on to become a four-time winner of the “World Heavyweight Championship”, three-time winner of the “World Tag Team Championship” and two-time winner of the “WWE Championship”.

In addition to many other titles, Dave Bautista has also won “WrestleMania XXX’, ‘WrestleMania 21’, and the ‘2005 Royal Rumble’. Bautista tattooed some letters on his upper left biceps in a tribute to his ex-wife Angie Bautista. The letters were written in Kanji which is a Chinese Logographic character. The letter read ‘Angel’.

The couple divorced in 2006 after eight years of marriage. Rumors had it that Dave Bautista’s link up with a Diva in WWF was the reason the couple divorced.

Bautista published his autobiography on the 16th of October 2007. He titled it ‘Batista Unleashed’. Dave and Angie became close again after the latter read the book. According to Dave, the former couple became close again more than they have been in years.

Dave also admitted that he has learned more about Angie and that she has also learned about him by reading the book. He further stated that Angie saw things from another view after reading the book. So, Dave concluded that the book was therapeutic.

Before Dave Bautista married Angie, he was married to Glenda and they had 2 daughters names Athena (born in 1992), and Keilani (Born in 1990). Dave later married Sarah Jade (a professional pole dancer) in 2015, but they got divorced four years later in 2019.

Angie As A Cancer Survivor

In the early 2000s, Angie started noticing fresh bruises and experiencing body weakness. She ascribed it to alterations in her nutrition and fitness regime. But the symptoms persisted and was even getting worse that she had to be hospitalized.

After a series of tests, Angie was diagnosed with ovarian cancer because the test revealed a tumor in Angie’s right ovary. So, she began the treatment and was treated with ‘Carboplatin’ and ‘Taxol’.

All through the time Angie was battling cancer, Dave Bautista was there for her as he supported her all the way. He even used the opportunity to raise funds for patients with ovarian cancer. Angie also worked with the OCRA (Ovarian Cancer Research Alliance) to raise funds using her popularity.

Angie was able to overcome cancer and heal completely, so she kept using her platform to share awareness and raise funds for ovarian cancer patients.

When she was explaining her cancer experience, Angie said that people may feel that cancer patients have a certain look, but cancer can also affect even those who are physically fit.

Reports had it that Dave Bautista on the other hand also traveled around the United States of America and even went as far as preparing a video for the Ovarian Cancer Research.

‘Monday Mayhem Wrestling’ later released the video for public view in August 2010 in conjunction with ‘The South of France Spa Naturals’. Dave Bautista dedicated the video to Angie who felt moved by the kind gesture.

Motherhood

Oliver Bautista is the only child that the union of Dave Bautista and Angie Bautista produced. Surprisingly, the boy was born in 2007 after the couple’s divorce.

The baby came at a time when Angie was in remission for her cancer treatment, so she had to give birth to the baby through IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization.

Angie stated that Oliver is a miracle child who inspired her to be optimistic all through the time she was battling ovarian cancer.

Since Angie divorced Dave Bautista, she has kept a private life void of any spotlight. She is not active on social media, neither does she attend events or grant media interviews.

She now works as a fitness supporter.
