Top 5 songs from Video Games

Posted by: Muzu Team In: MUZU.TV

MUZU TV have been thinking about how music is used in computer games and have come up with our top 5.

5) The Whip, Trash.
From Forza 3

The Whip – Trash on MUZU

The Whip are a Manchester band, and with 4 songs used in different video games, are the soundtrack to a lot of gaming time. Fifa ‘09, Need For Speed, and Nba live 2009 all incorporate tracks, but my favourite was on Forza 3. With a self tagged mix of electronica, pop and disco house, “Trash” is well suited to sit beside cars driving at speed.

4) Fall Out Boy, This Aint a Scene, Its an Arms Race.
From Rock Band

Fall Out Boy – This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race on MUZU

Fall Out Boy hit number 1 with their catchy punk-pop in 2008. This is one of Rock Bands most popular songs, and Fall Out Boy even got friend Kanye West to remix it. It sold 1,126,377 times in 12 weeks when released, and is a stand out song on their album “Infinity on High”.

3) Motorhead, Ace of Spades
From Tony Hawks 2&3

MOTöRHEAD – Ace Of Spades on MUZU

Motorhead’s seminal single from 1980, it appears on a number of games, all of which are better because of it, but the Hawk series folks make the best use of it because of the style and class with which songs are delivered throughout the games.

2) Rage Against the Machine, Killing In The Name Of.
From Grand Theft Auto

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE – Killing In The Name on MUZU

Rage Against The Machine fit perfectly as a soundtrack to the GTA games. Started in 1997, there are now 9 full games where the aim is to run around a city and do as many illegal activities as you can, including stealing and driving cars. With the car stereo on full blast, the music makes a massive impact on the gameplaying experience.

1) Kasabian, L.S.F.
From the Fifa Soccer range.

KASABIAN – L.S.F. on MUZU

This is a reason to remember why football games are great. Fifa was one of the first football games to get me hooked, and its menu’s and music was a large part of that. Kasabian’s L.S.F. was probably the best song on a very good list of tunes, and to this day evokes images of bicycle kicks, and goalkeepers showing their skills as they run past opposing midfield players.
