Jedward’s schedule for the next six weeks is epic. There is not a spare space in their itinerary. Always accepting of a challenge, the boys agreed to mark the start of their journey to Baku in Azerbaijan for the semi-final on May 22nd and the final on May 26th in an unforgettable way.
Sean Venter from Dublin’s leading tattoo studio Zulu was picked to do the tattoos having previously worked with Green Day, Shane from Boyzone and actor Rhys Ifans.
John went all out and decided to have his tattoo on his lower arm and Edward on his upper back. Both are two of the most painful places to be tattooed.
Jedward manager Louis Walsh commented, “The boys have always been 110% committed to everything they do. Having tattoos is crazy but just shows how much passion they have to try and win the contest in May in Baku for Ireland.”
Jedward have filmed some exclusive interviews with MUZU.TV alongside their Eurovision entry music video ‘Waterline’ which is released on April 9th 2012
John commented, “My tattoo really hurt but Edward and I did it for Eurovision as we so want to win the competition for Ireland.”
Edward commented, “Having a tattoo with John is really cool. It’s always going to be a special memory for us in 2012, especially if we win Eurovision.”
Sean Venter has been working in Dublin since 2000. Green Day, Shane Lynch, Rhys Ifans, Calum Best, Matthew Pritchard (Dirty Sanchez) have all been inked by Sean. Zulu Tattoo are based at 26 Great Strand Street, Dublin 1 Ireland Website
