The Hillsborough charity single has an all-star line-up and is in the race for Christmas number one too. The full line-up for Justice Collective includes:

All the stars have come out to support the charity which aids the Hillsborough Families legal costs in their fight for justice. Kenny Dalglish said: “Every penny from the single goes to help the families’ legal costs and I hope their fight is nearing the end now.”

The cover of He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother is produced by the award-winning Guy Chambers who is popular for the tracks he has produced with Robbie Williams and Kylie Minogue. Although this version by the Justice Collective has also been sung by Neil Diamond and was written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell for Kelly Gordon in 1969 – it was made famous in the UK by The Hollies in 1970.

Guy Chambers, Steve Rotheram MP and Kenny Dalglish announced the release of He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother on October 25th to a press conference at the Houses of Parliament. It was announced that it would be to aid the burden of legal fees that Hillsborough families are having to spend money in their quest for justice as a result of the Hillsborough disaster. The tragedy at Hillsborough happened in 1989 which caused the death of 96 football fans at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield. The match was the FA Cup Final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest on 15 April 1989.

The charity single is being promoted by the stars and other famous scousers including Kenny Dalglish and Jon Bishop. Currently in the race for Christmas number one, the He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother charity single is just behind James Arthur’s Impossible. James Arthur’s single is also for a charity – Together for Short Lives.
