I love these guys, and I hope you do too. With melodic, flowing indie vibes reminiscent of Fleet Foxes, Dry The River made every 2012 list everywhere, and listening to The Chambers and the Valve, it’s easy to see why. The video makes for a rather interesting watch too, a rather early, or perhaps belated Halloween party? Wish I could join in, that’s all I’m saying.

And now time for something different!

On My Way is an independent art film that blends elements of narrative cinema, traditional music videos, and avant-garde filmmaking. The film portrays an artist who sacrifices a loving relationship in order to pursue his passion. After he returns home, he struggles to cope with the memories of his ex-lover when he sees her with another man. On My Way addresses the difficulty of saying goodbye and moving on with life, a theme shared with Dontae’s EP. “Indiesoulrocknroll:about a girl from westland” tells a story about lost love while holding on to a positive outlook on life, sometimes with a devil-may-care attitude, which Dontae expresses as a necessity for walking away from heartbreak with style.

The “indiesoulrocknroll” EP was released in June 2011 on Submerge Recordings out of Detroit, MI and was co-produced by Dylan Ely whose discography includes artists such as Linkin Park, Ludacris, and Cyndi Lauper. The EP features the songs “Smile”, “On My Way”, “One More Try (It’s Complicated)”, “New Day”, and “Don’t Leave”. Dontae wrote, performed, co-produced, and arranged all instrumentation on the EP. Classically trained in guitar, Dontae’s music is a brazen, lo-fil montage of Soul, alternative Rock n’ Roll, electronic pop, and new wave Hip-Hop.

As an artist, Dontae explores multiple mediums of creative expression. Primarily a musician and recording artist, he has recently stepped toward acting and film production. In 2010 Dontae was featured as lead actor in the short film, Il y avait un année aujourd’hui à Cozumel directed by Nathan Elias. The film was an official selection for the Toledo Museum of Art’s Winter Ball Film Festival, and was Dontae’s first time working with Elias. LA poprockers IT BOYS! bring the hit factor to the UK with their debut single release on EMI/Century Media Records

New kids on the block IT BOYS! are looking to shake up the UK pop‐rock scene this spring with the release of new single “Guys Don’t Like Me” on March 12. The may have good looks and catchy hooks, but the Californian alt‐pop five‐piece have been rapidly gaining notoriety in Hollywood with their lively, upbeat sound, amassing a celebrity following including the Good Charlotte boys Joel & Benji Madden.

Having toured nonstop in 2011 with the likes of Jeffree Star, Dev, Carolina Liar and partaken in the Vans Warped Tour, the band are now currently in the studio working to complete their full‐length debut album – slated for a summer 2012 release in the UK.

It Boys! – Guys Don’t Like Me (Video) on MUZU.

In May 2010 the world of Hard Rock and Heavy Metal lost one of its most gifted and fervent ambassadors, with the passing of Ronnie James Dio. In his position as lead vocalist for Rock giants such as Rainbow and Black Sabbath, as well as fronting his own eponymous band for nearly three decades, Dio created some of the genres most defining and respected works. Albums such as ‘Holy Diver’, ‘Sacred Heart’ and ‘Last in Line’ all stand as towering monuments of sheer class and brilliance in the Rock pantheon. Dio was also to pave the way in regards to performing live, as few equaled him. With his incredible vocal range, Dio was to preside over countless memorable rock shows, enthralling his millions of fans worldwide. As well as the original CD being re-mastered, these reissues each feature a bonus CD containing an expanded booklet with notes from Malcolm Dome and has been endorsed by Ronnie’s widow Wendy Dio.

‘Holy Diver’ was the debut album from Dio, released 25th May, 1983. It was hailed by critics as some of his best work and in January 1986 it was awarded Silver certification. The upbeat sounding ‘Rainbow in the Dark’ was to catch MTV’s attention, with the title track also standing out.

‘The Last in Line’ was the second Dio studio album. It was released on 13th July, 1984 and was the first album from Dio to reach Platinum status as well as number 4 in the UK charts. This new album showcased the anthemic tracks ‘We Rock’ and ‘I Speed at Night’ as well as the seven-minute epic, ‘Egypt ( The Chains are On)’.

Released in October 1985 ‘Sacred Heart’ was released as the third studio album from Dio. The album reached number 4 in the UK charts and was to go on to be certified Gold. This was to become Dio’s most well known album and contained the tracks ‘Rock N’ Roll Children’ and ‘Hungry for Heaven’. The stage show that was to accompany this album was hailed as a spectacle, involving a mechanised dragon as well as laser’s. Ronnie and his band were to refer to the dragon as Denzil. This was the last studio album to be released by Dio that included guitarist Vivian Campbell.

Wow. The Queen of pop Madonna showed us she’s still got it at her half time performance at the 2012 Super Bowl the other day. With her co. performers Nicki Minaj, and the ever contraversial M.I.A, LMFAO, and CeeLo she gave an eye opening Roman themed performance that was nothing short of incredible. And here is is in her latest single, Give Me All You Lovin’ featuring Nicki and M.I.A again, showing a lot of leg and a few blast from the pasts in Madonna style. Enjoy!

Listening to Saturday Night Gym Club, my first thought was WOWOWOW. Yes, sweet synths, chilled out, blissed out, textured electro loveliness. Saturday Night Gym Class’s lush synths envelope you like a warm blanket in winter.

The ambient track is taken from their debut EP “How To Build A Life Raft”, from which the leading track is “I Know ft. Ellie Walker”. Drawing comparisions to M83 and other electro outfits of the same ilk such as Crystal Castles and Ladytron, this young four piece met while studying at University. The band have already played BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Livefest at the London 02 and Small Trees Festival but have plans for more. With DJ sets planned in the UK, Ireland and Europe, a set of festival appearances for summer 2012 and a debut album planned for the end of the year, there’s no stopping Saturday Night Gym Club. Watch this space for these guys, I certainly will be.

The band formed in 2011, recieving rave review of their synth based multi-track harmonies. Continually recieving comaparisons to the wonderful Animal Collective, the band do not dispell the rumours by citing them as an influence to MUZU. New video from Zebra and Snake for their new single Sweetest Treasure – which was made by Sing J. Lee, an award winning director. The adorable video features a Where The Wild Things Are type storyline with a tribe of children battle monsters in the forest.

Tréson has crafted his own rendition of Billy Vera’s 1981 classic, “At This Moment”. Treson’s joins world renowed and acclaimed musicians such as Tom Jones and most recently Michael Buble’s to cover this classic. Transformed into a roots reggae lover’s rock tune, the single still manages to retain the impressive raw emotional appeal that Vera first sang it with. Get a little reggae in your life!
