Muzu.tv recently had the pleasure of speaking to the ever gracious BMI Songwriter of the Year winner Jason Derulo.

Jason shared the honour of this year’s award with the incredible Lady Gaga. We talked to him about the making of his album, and just what songwriting means to him. Jason gave us the lowdown on his creative process, his current loves and influences in the music industry, past and present. She rose to fame in 2007 with the internet hit ”Ur So Gay”, and later in 2008 came her breakthrough single ”I Kissed a Girl”. The album has been a massive commerical success having sold over 800,000 copies in the United States alone.
