The song is a track on his fourth studio album, F.A.M.E., released on 18th March 2011. The song features Canadian singer Justin Bieber and was produced by Nasri Atweh and Adam Messinger, who wrote the song with Chris Brown and Amber Streeter of American R&B girl group RichGirl. He first revealed plans to collaborate with Bieber late 2010; the track is the first of two tracks they worked together. The second track being a remix of Justin Bieber's “UP.” It was released for digital download on 24th June 2011, as the album's fifth single. The video for "Next 2 You" was directed by Colin Tilley and was filmed at the Universal Studios in LA and upper Manhattan. On 21st May 2011, Chris Brown posted two photos from a shoot via Twitter, showing him and Bieber standing among overturned cars in a path of destruction. However, the unfinished version of the music video leaked onto the Internet on 6th June, and the final cut was premiered on 17th June. The video begins with the two of them interacting with their girlfriends while the song "All Back" by Chris Brown is playing. He is thinking of his girlfriend (Shannon Elizabeth) before the “apocalypse” occurs. He then searches for his love interest that is then hit by the car that Justin Bieber's girlfriend is in. He saves her by leaping over a fissure. As the video is ending Bieber's girlfriend finds him on top of the roof of a building where they kiss. Intercut are scenes of both Chris Brown and Justin Bieber dancing amongst the destruction.
