The official music video for "Turn Up the Music" a song by the 22 year-old controversial American Pop/RnB singer, Chris Brown. This single is from the upcoming fifth studio album Fortune (2012). The song was written and produced by Harvey Mason Jr., Damon Thomas and Fuego. "Turn Up the Music" premiered online on 26th January, and was sent to Contemporary Hit Radio’s Studios in the United States on 7th February. It was released to Digital Download 10th February through RCA records as the lead single from the album. The song is up-tempo: a high-energy song, which draws from the genres of electro-house and dance-pop. The song became more and more motivated as it developed from how Chris Brown dances and performs in the video. "Turn Up the Music" worked well for most critics, who praised it for its production and compared it to his other singles, "Forever”(2008) and "Yeah 3x"(2010), for how it has a similar musical direction. The video was directed by Godfrey Taberez and Brown, and shot in LA, California. It features Brown appearing at a party filled with masked people, where he performs heavily choreographed dance routines and has been compared to Michael Jackson by several critics. He promoted "Turn Up the Music" by performing it live at the 54th Grammy Awards and during the halftime show of the 2012 NBA All-Star Game. The song's official remix features Brown's former girlfriend, Rihanna. The Underdogs stated that the song's inspiration "was really ‘Chris Brown’ as an artist, visualizing how he dances and how he performs, and giving him something to match that energy."
