Pendulum’s debut album Hold Your Colour goes down in history as one of the most exciting and groundbreaking albums in dance music for us. We returned to it recently and were blown away all over again by the stunning production and incendiary tunes, and were served a reminder about what a let down we felt the more rock/metal direction of follow-up In Silico was.
Whatever we thought of their second album, there’s no denying that the new direction helped them to amass a huge fanbase worldwide, and enabled them to develop into one of the most exciting live acts in dance music history – joining only a handful of acts from across the decades who can rock a crowd with a truly live electronic performance.
