David Bowie performs a live, extended version of his 1977 classic 'Heroes' with his band, in front of a sell-out crowd on the Isle of Wight in 2004 as part of his 'A Reality Tour'.
Although the track had no great success when it was released nearly thirty years earlier, it has since been widely acclaimed as one of his best ever songs, alongside the likes of Fame and Rebel Rebel, which he also performed on the Isle of Wight that night. As a fans' favourite, 'Heroes' was the last song on the setlist, and this video is the lively performace he gave on the final UK date of the second largest tour of his career.
Written by David Bowie and Brian Eno, and produced by Bowie and Tony Viconti, 'Heroes' was firt released as a single in 1977, but only made it to #24 in the UK charts and didn't break into the US Billboard 100. The song was later made the title track for his album of the same name, as well as being covered by numerous artists and groups over the past four decades.
