The song is the twelfth track from his fifth studio album Nothing But The Beat. It was written and produced by David Guetta, Giorgio Tuinfort and Afrojack. It was also co-written by Sia Furler. The album received mixed or average reviews from music critics. At Meta Critic, which assigns a mean rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 56, which indicates "mixed or average reviews. David Jeffries wrote for Allmusic that "Nothing But the Beat offers the same experience as one of Guetta’s numerous remix sets, but declared that "something’s missing, something along the lines of When Love Takes Over." David Wilson directed the video, It opens in a deserted, destroyed school hallway with Lee's character shown sitting on the ground. As the first verse begins, he slowly begins to stand up and makes his way through the hallway. He then rides a bicycle home to pack his things. He heads home and sees a news report about the incident, causing him to quickly gather his things to flee. The boy realizes that the door is locked so he uses telekinetic powers to grab the keys from the kitchen bench. The final scene shows the boy running away from a SWAT team in the woods. The single peaked at No. 3 on the Irish Singles chart while at the same time it reached No. 1 in both the UK Singles and Dance chart. The album reached No. 2 on both the Irish Albums chart and the UK Albums chart. Also in the US it reached No. 5 on the US Billboard 200 and No. 1 on the US Dance/Electronic Albums chart.
