Official music video for the track Oliver Twist by D'Banj.

D’Banj official music video for Oliver Twist. Oliver Twist is a song performed by D’Banj.

The new video for Oliver Twist signifies a parting of ways for the Nigerian singer-songwiter D’Banj and his producer Don Jazzy. The two had developed a close working relationship and with Mo’Hits records signed to Kanye West's GOOD Music Family record label. Although the song exhibits all the characteristics of producer Don Jazzy, there is no mention of him in the video, instead displaying the tagline ““GOOD presents in association with Mo’hit records, Oliver Twist”. Also there is no inclusion of the rest of the Nigerian Mo’Hits crew in the music video, however Kanye West makes a late cameo appearance in the clip. The label title "GOOD" is an acronym for "Getting Out Our Dreams" and is home to other famous R&B artists such as Mos Def, Common, John Legend and Mr. Kanye West himself. D’Banj, real name Dapo Daniel Oyebanjo, brings afrobeat into the 21st century as a tribute to his mentor Fela. His songs are often autobiographical and communicate through humour and often poignant directness, the struggle of the artist as a young African boy in pursuit of a better life. D’Banj is known for performing in Yoruba, English and Pidgin English and all of his albums to date have been produced by Don Jazzy. He takes on the persona The Koko Master, which originated with his first single ‘No Long Thing’ released in 2005. D’Banj has won much critical acclaim, receiving plaudits for his album ‘The Entertainer’ (2008) and winning many awards including Best African Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007, Artist of the Year at the MTV Africa Music Awards 2009 and BET Awards of 2011 for Best International Act: Africa.
