Gossip official music video for Perfect World. Perfect World is a song performed by Gossip. American indie dance-punk band Gossip return onto the scene with their explosive new track ‘Perfect World’, their comeback single which is to feature on the bands fifth studio album release ‘A Joyful Noise’ in May 2012. Gossip are a three piece band which feature singer Beth Ditto, guitarist Braice Paine and drummer Hannah Blilie. Gossip had released a number of recordings before breaking through to the mainstream charts with their dance-rock anthem ‘Standing In The Way Of Control’ in 2006, mixing Ditto’s soulful voice with electro-funk rhythms. The new track ‘Perfect World’ marks a change in Gossip towards a more mature sound. The video starts with a melodramatic medieval scene in which Beth Ditto sings a ballad-like melody in a drab and dark chapel only to give way to the explosive drum beat and vibrant colour that we would usually associate with the electrifying trio. Perfect World is a sure dance-floor anthem with a twang of Bonnie Tyler sprinkled into the mix for good measure. The LP has been produced by Brian Higgins of pop production company Xenomania and Mark Ronson. Full of colour, stained glass windows, fire and gymnast-dancers, Gossip sow their idea of a Perfect World in the video which was directed by Price James, the same director behind Ditto’s brilliant “I Wrote The Book,” which paid homage to Madonna‘s “Justify My Love.” Gossip’s fifth album ‘A Joyful Noise’ is to be released in May 2012.
