The official music video for "Fight for You" by the American singer-songwriter, actor and dancer Jason Derülo. He was originally signed to a minor recording label Beluga Heights, and after they became part of the Warner Music Group he released his first single. “Fight for You” is taken from his second studio album, Future History (2011). The song is an RnB ballad that incorporates an interpolation of "Africa" by Toto. It was written by Jason Derülo, Steve Hoang, David F. Paich and Jeffrey T. Porcaro, and was produced by RedOne, BeatGeek and Geo Slam. He said in an interview with Daily Star that "Fight for You" was the first song he and RedOne worked together on, stating "I'm glad it turned out so dope, and on working with RedOne, he said, "RedOne was a nice, humble, down-to-earth, special person." The video premiered online on 25th November 2011. The video shows Jason Derülo either singing solo with city skyline behind him, or spending time with his love interest in a subway train, shopping center, at home or under the shower. In the United States, after the release of Future History, "Fight for You" debuted at No. 83 on the Billboard Hot 100 15th October 2011. It also debuted at No. 117 on the UK Singles chart on 22nd October 2011. It has so far peaked at No. 15. In Ireland, "Fight for You" debuted at No. 31 on the Irish Singles chart 1st December 2011. The following week, the song peaked at No. 28.
