Katy Perry official music video for Part Of Me. Part Of Me is a song performed by Katy Perry.
As the lead single from Katy Perry’s re-released debut album ‘Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection’, Part Of Me reveals a new Katy Perry who has reinvented herself, pulling away from the pouting pinup icon to become a determined Marine cadet. In the music video, Perry embarks on a mission to join the Marines following the revelation of her lover’s infidelity. The video reflects the aggressive nature of the song, which the artists described as “an affirmation of strength”. There has been speculation that the song is directed at Katy Perry’s ex-husband Russel Brand, the adapted version containing such lyrics as “Throw your bombs and your blows, But you're not gonna break my soul, This is the part of me that you're never gonna ever take away from me”. The video features actual Marines as extras and Katy Perry revealed that she took part in a three-day Marine bootcamp in order to prepare for her role in the video. The music has dance-pop melodies over heavy house beats, the ‘Teenage Dream’ star also revealed in a tweet that the "proceeds of #PARTOFME from ITUNES and others will go to one of my favorite charities for the arts, MUSICARES”. Perry is set to perform the song at Season 11 of American Idol on 26 April 2012.
Katy Perry (born Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson) gained international fame with the release of her first mainstream album, ‘One of the Boys’ in 2008. The album featured three Billboard Hot 100 top-ten songs; 'I Kissed A Girl', 'Hot n Cold' and 'Waking Up In Vegas'. She has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards and there has been recent speculation that Perry is in talks over a collaboration with Rihanna on a new song.
