Underground, overground, wombling free, The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are they – and they were in The Official Charts HQ last week to talk about their new Best Of collection, ‘The W Factor’, which is released today (Monday, November 28). Orinoco, Great Uncle Bulgaria, Madame Cholet and co were joined by their producer Mike Batt to talk about their reformation, playing this year’s Glastonbury festival, and taking on Simon Cowell’s X Factor in the race for the Official Christmas Number 1 single with the forthcoming re-release 1974 smash hit, ‘Wombling Merry Christmas’.
