Paul Weller official music video for Green. Green is a song performed by Paul Weller.

Straight from his spectacular new album ‘Sonik Kicks’, former The Jam frontman Paul Weller returns in flying form with rocking new single ‘Green’. The track thunders out of the speakers from the get-go with fuzzy guitar riffs, rolling NEU kraut-beat and synth keyboard lines serving up Weller’s stream of consciousness spoken-word lyrics. ‘Sonik Kicks’ is the artist’s 11th solo album and shows how far the rocker has come in a career that has taken his oeuvre from mod-revivalism to his soul-inspired years in The Style Council. The kraut-rock rhythms of ‘Green’ put in mind space-out hypnotic rhythms of CAN and Neu and the song is a blistering opener to the new album and front line in the artists new direction. The official music video for the song features psychedelic animations which flow in rhythm to the driving psych-rock track. With songs like ‘Green’ it’s no wonder how Weller has had such a major influence on the many Britpop bands that emerged in the nineties and have established themselves in the pantheon of UK superstars. Among the artists who have sworn their allegiance to the Modfather include Oasis, Blur, Ocean Colour Scene and even more recently bands like Arctic Monkeys and Hard-Fi. ‘Sonik Kicks’ is released in the UK on 19 March 2012.
