Bangarang is a song by American electronic music producer and dubstep pioneer Skrillex. It is taken from EP of the same name, Bangarang. It features guest vocals from Sirah. The video was directed by Tony Truand. It opens features 3 young boys who rob an ice cream truck. During the incident they accidentally cut off the truck driver's hand! The video then shows the boys as adults who then steal money from a black van, now being professional robbers. The video ends with one of the boys (now an adult) giving the same ice cream driver an amount of the money they stole, out of guilt for the incident that occurred when they were children. The video has many features along a Peter Pan type theme, featuring the crocodile, the lost boys and hook. Bangarang has multiple musical influences of dubstep and electro house while heavily using Sirah's cut up rap vocals throughout the song. The song received quite positive reviews from music industry critics. It has become one of Skrillex’s most commercially successful single and has charted in multiple territories, such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Austria, France, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden. Sonny John Moore ( was born in January 15, 1988, and is better known by his stage name Skrillex. Skrillex is an American electronic music producer and was previously a singer–songwriter. He was raised in Northeast Los Angeles and in Northern California. Sonny Moore joined the American post-hardcore band From First to Last, where he featured as the lead singer in 2004, and they recorded two studio albums with the band. These were called Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has a Body Count which was released in 2004, and Heroine which was released in 200. Sonny Moore left to pursue a solo career in 2007.He began his first tour as a solo artist in late–2007. Sonny Moore then appeared on the Alternative Press Tour to support bands such as All Time Low and The Rocket Summer. Sonny Moore then released the My Name is Skrillex EP which was available for free download on his MySpace, and he then released the Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites EP in 2010 and More Monsters and Sprites EP in mid 2011. In 2011 Skrillex was nominated for an incredible five Grammy Awards at the 54th Grammy Awards. These included Best New Artist. He won three of these awards,including ""Best Dance/Electronica Album,"" ""Best Dance Recording,"" and ""Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical"". In 2011 the BBC nominated for their Sound of 2012 poll. In December 2011, he was also named MTVs EDM Artist of the Year, ranking ahead of industry successful acts such as David Guetta and deadmau5 who he is often associated with.
