Lightning is the third single released from The Wanted’s second studio album titled ‘The Battleground’ which follows on from other singles ‘Gold Forever’ and ‘Glad You Came’ which were both commercial successes in the UK and Ireland. ‘Glad You Came’ became The Wanted’s first #1 UK single. The group has supported Justin Bieber and also Britney Spears to sold out shows on their international tours. The band consists of Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes. The Wanted’s debut single ‘All Time Low’ ironically reached the UK #1 spot after its release in July 2010. If you thought The Wanted's Glad You Came had a raunchy video then you better look away for the latest offering on ‘Lightning’. The boys' management team had allegedly been ordered to edit out some of the saucier scenes from their video for Lightning but it seems like a fair few of the shots have been kept in to keep the fans of The Wanted happy until the next release. The original cut had been deemed ‘too sexy’ for The Wanted’s army of young fans. The boys refused to ditch the dirt completely and have decided to leave in a couple of scenes which depict lovers licking each other and shots filled with passionate kissing in the back seat of a car. The band goes wild at an outdoor party in the video. There’s fire, dirt bikes, tribal makeup on some hot girls, randomly placed fluorescent lights and flinging toilet paper. Only then does it get a little out of hand and voyeuristic. No complaints I’m sure from The Wanted’s die-hard fans!
