Official music video for the track My Generation by The Who.
This is the official music video for The Who’s “My Generation”. “My Generation” is the British classic-rock band’s fifth single off their debut studio album “My Generation (The Who Sings My Generation in the United States)”. “My Generation” was written by pete townshend and was produced by Shel Talmy.
“My Generation” is one of The Who’s most recognizable songs, It is featured on Rolling Stone’s No. 11 on their “500 Greatest Songs of All Time” and No. 13 on VH1’s “100 Greatest Songs of Rock & Roll”. It is also featured on the “500 Song that Shaped Rock and Roll” in The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The original version of “My Generation” was recorded for the “Ready Steady Who! EP” in 1966 and in 1995 it was re-recorded as a re-mastered version of the song for the studio album “A Quick One”. The main difference amongst the two versions of the song is that at the end of the re-mastered version there is a muddled interpretation of “Land of Hope and Glory” by Edward Elgar.
The re-mastered version is also used in the music video. The music video is compiled of a montage of live performance clips and performances on music stations.
